Dr. Martens presents DM: Adelita Edition. Cultural twist of Dr. Martens Shoreditch cherry red shoe. This design takes a feminist cultural twist back in time to the first feminist women of Mexico. Adelitas are the Mexican women soldiers who fought in the Mexican Revolution. This representation of incorporating the history, the beauty, and toughness these women behold. The Cacti is another twist of capturing their beauty from the fruit it bares to the hard edge attitudes like the thorns they have. This design of Dr. Martens is tying in authentic characteristics of those who stand for something, the self-expressed, and those who are different. It includes elements of a bullet serape as a sleeve, a screen printed burlap bag, and 11x17 poster of the women. This brings you into the history, and design of two great worlds.
